Lots of Reading

Is what I am doing for Huma this semester. At least it is a good book...
I'm sorry I havn't posted lately. Our internet has been having problems, and I have been busy.
I had two exams last week, one this monday, and 2 next week. I have recieved one back - my linear algebra test, on which (Praise the Lord!) I recieved a 101/100 (you gotta love extra credit - this particular test asked "True or false: Left-handed people are more balanced mentally than right handed people." [Now, the professor is left handed. I happen to write left handed. I liked that question.]). I havn't gotten any other tests back yet - probably tomorrow will be one of them.
It dosnt feel like I have been here long, but next week is spring break. We get a 4 day weekend - after classes on wednesday, we are clear until monday morning. Oh Joy! A chance to catch up on sleep.
I can't think of anything else big to say, so for now I will be done. I will try to keep at this blogging with a little more regularity in the future.

Rugby and Steelers Football

Rugby practice is going again! Yes!
Do you know what this means? It means that I can start to get some consistant exercise!
Our first practice was on thursday night - for 2 hours. This was a hard practice - no easing into the spring season. First, we started with running two miles on the running track in the PLC. Ouch. I hope that I get used to that, so I don't end up as being perpetually sore, especially because Bain (coach) will probably up that to three miles soonish, anyway. Then we spent some time in throwing and running drills, plays, and rucking. Fun, and I can't wait for the next practice, but 2 hours is a long practice.
It's the super bowl weekend, and that is about all that the campus is talking about. Steelers jerseys and Terrible Towels (where on earth did 'Terrible Towel' come from, anyway? ) are everywhere. Many people take the presence of Seattle Seahawks fans as proof that the campus is diversifying - with 5% Seahawk supporters on campus according to a poll in the campus newspaper, the Steeler fans are by far in the majority. I am hoping that the Seahawks win (although I dont plan on watching the game or rooting for either team) for the sole reason of watching the dejection of 95% of the campus population over the following week. My roommate hopes for precisely the opposite reason that the steelers are the victors - he has a calc test this week, and his professor has intimated that if the steelers lose, he may be very unhappy. The last time that the prof was unhappy for a test, the class average was about 60...I see why johnathan is worried.
Its the weekend now - that means its time to get homework and programming work done. More later, I'm sure - theres not too much that I plan on doing this weekend.
